Season One

The first season of Dear College includes essays from the Fenway High classes of 2018, 2019, and 2020. The seniors of 2018 and 2019 were recorded at the high school, in a music room with acoustics that provided a broadcast quality sound.

In 2020, the COVID pandemic prevented recording at the high school studio. The 2020 seniors were recorded remotely, from their homes. Thus, the sound quality reflects that unavoidable and unfortunate necessity.

But the quality of the 2020 essays themselves lived up to the standards of earlier classes, and the enthusiasm of the seniors was unwavering. It should be noted that their essays were written in the fall of 2019, before the pandemic. But in being recorded during the pandemic, in late spring 2020, those seniors reflected thoughtfully on a life-changing experience.

Dear College anticipates that the essays of the seniors of 2021 will have more to say about the pandemic.
